Ballet - Ballet is the backbone of each and every dancer. Emphasis is placed on learning proper technique and terminology. Our classes correct body alignment, and development of grace and poise. Pointe class is also available for advanced students with teacher permission.
Lyrical - Lyrical dance challenges both choreographers and dancers to use their motions to interpret the music and express emotion. In Lyrical, a dancer should attempt to show the meaning of the music. Lyrical style requires excellent technique to perform because of the difficulty and precise movements. Characteristic of the Lyrical dance style are usually seen as flowing dance moves that connect throughout the dance routine.
Jazz - Jazz class includes body isolations, flexibility and strengthening exercises, as well as across the floor progressions, and dance combination's. This style consists of unique moves, intense footwork, big leaps and very quick turns. To excel in Jazz, dancers need a strong background in Ballet, as it encourages grace and balance.
Tap - The style of Tap is an exciting form of dance in which dancers wear special shoes equipped with metal taps in order to use their feet as drums to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats. In Tap, dancers use their arms and upper bodies to blend movements of Ballet or Jazz into their Tap routine. From beginning to advanced levels, emphasis is placed on timing, rhythm, and syncopation. Tap dance uses precise rhythmical patterns of foot movement and audible foot tapping.
Acro/Tumbling - Acro is the artistic and controlled use of movement (ex: limbers, walkovers, chin stands, etc...). The benefit of this class is the development of flexibility, balance, speed, strength, and coordination. Good form and proper techniques are stressed in each level.
Hip-Hop - Hip-Hop dance refers to dance styles, mainly street styles, primarily danced to hip-hop music, or that have evolved as a part of the hip hop culture. This class is a great way for a dancer to let loose and develop a great feeling of the music in their own way.
Conditioning/Stretch - dancers ages 6-up are required to participate in a conditioning course. This class focuses on strength building and endurance, while also enhancing a dancer's flexibility. This class also serves as a pre-warm up for each dancer so that they begin every class a safe and healthy way!
